President Pranab Mukherjee today praised the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc-B) and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D). He lauded the two establishments for figuring in the rundown of main 200 foundations of the QS World University Rankings.
“I am enchanted that IISc, Bangalore and IIT, Delhi have been positioned at 147 and 179 individually in the QS World University Rankings of 2015-16. If it’s not too much trouble acknowledge my heartiest congrats on this striking accomplishment,” the president said in partitioned messages to IISc-B executive Anurag Kumar and IIT-D administering chief Kshitij Gupta.
The President issued an announcement in New Delhi, which said that, “India has remarkable and natural ability and its foundations can possibly be the best, if they can put forth a concentrated effort to the errand of enhancing quality.”

The rundown issued by Quacquarelli Symonds’ has Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard at the main two positions. While IIT Delhi has gone up from rank 235 last year, it is the first occasion when that IISc Bangalore has included on the rundown. Other Indian foundations which have been incorporated in the rundown are IIT Bombay at rank 202, IIT Madras at rank 254 and IIT Kanpur at rank 271.
